Conquests of Camelot was originally envisioned as an entire series, each game would have represented each knight of the round table, beginning with King Arthur as the first game.
Background[]
Conquests of Camelot appears to have started out as a stand alone King Arthur game named King Arthur and the Search for the Grail, but Sierra apparently wanted to add a quest title to the game to follow other Quest games at Sierra (and possibly turn it into another quest series). This included Conquest of Camelot/Conquests of Camelot series. In which King Arthur was to be the first game in the series.
The Conquests of Camelot series was an early development idea in which the life of King Arthur would be told as a series of games. King Arthur: The Search for the Grail was the first part. Very little is known about what later games would be like, as Christy Marx came up with other ideas finally settling on Robin Hood game instead. It can only be speculated but potential ideas mentioned are games based on other knights of the round table as playable characters.

- Christy and Peter came to Sierra in 1988 to create a Sierra 3-D adventure game based on the legends of King Arthur, a game that would eventually become Conquests of Camelot 1: The Search for the Grail, Christy designed and wrote the game, and Peter drew the background pictures and designed the animated game characters.[1]
- Christy Marx, whose recent "Conquest of Camelot" has been selling great, has apparently been landed by Sierra for a multi-game contract. Her next computer game could be another "Conquest of Camelot" but the name I've got on the evidence says it's a conquest of another time and place entirely.[2]
Christy Marx's Conquests of Camelot did very well on its own, but somehow the original concept, which was to do a series of games based on the Knights of the Round Table, went away. The series was changed so that a Conquests game could mean any conquest based on legend or myth. Robin Hood ended up being Christy's next focus in Conquest of the Longbow.[3]
