Ione was an initiate of the Goddess, one of the Six Guardians, sent to watch and test Arthur as he wandered the Street of David. She traversed the streets, holding a cage with six doves.
After Arthur helped everyone with their problems in the Street, she was found near the Jaffa Gate outside Mohammed's former shop, her doves flew on the tent, and herself crying for her mistress would punish her. Arthur helped her by using grain to lure the doves back into their cage. Ione then revealed her identity and sent Arthur to the seeress
